Fine Art & Photography by Lisa Ringelspaugh-Irvine
Through the years I have painted over 2,000 original works, now hanging in public spaces, company offices, and private homes up and down the East Coast of the United States.
The best part has been that so many are now on display in public places where everybody can enjoy them.
I want to express my gratitude to those in the corporate community and the private individuals who support my work. I enjoy working with designers and individuals on projects to develop imagery that brings a smile, a memory or simply a moment to reflect and relax.
I like to give people a different perspective on something they might see every day. It's fun to let people see things through my eyes.
My paintings are all about beauty. It can be natural beauty or urban life — the way people live is very interesting and exciting. One of my greatest pleasures is observing the magic in urban living.
When I paint, my thoughts are always on how I will use light, color, strong shapes and, sometimes, humor to depict my subject.
Watercolor has been my primary medium for painting urban life, but I also work in pastels, acrylic collage and mixed media. Recently, I have begun to do commercial and art photography. Most recently I have begun work on what I call the Mermaid Series.
Typically, my paintings range from 24 x 30 inches up to six by eight feet. On occasion I have produced even larger mixed media pieces for a public site.
THE BEAUTY... AND AFFORDABILITY OF GIGLEE...
Since I have received many requests for high-quality reproductions of my art, I am now making some very limited numbered edition prints available through the galleries on these pages. I have chosen to use the giclee printing process because it is the finest quality available.
These signed, museum-quality giclee prints are created with archival inks on acid-free, archival paper or stretched canvas. The paper prints also have my embossed studio "chop" in the lower right corner. Depending on the individual piece, only 50 to 200 signed and numbered prints will be printed. Each individual print is carefully inspected by both the printmaker and myself. With this in mind, buyers understand the need to allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.
Of course, I still sell original paintings and I am always interested in creating a new piece or series specifically for someone, so you can contact me to discuss your ideas by calling me or Click Here>
ENTERING BACKWARDS... TO GO FORWARD...
I entered the art world somewhat backwards: first marrying, having a family, then going back to school, as many women do. After college, I taught school for several years before finally taking the plunge to make a professional career out of doing what I love. I am fortunate to live in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, with my husband Norbert Irvine, also an accomplished painter, where I am immersed in beauty.

EVERY BREATH... IS PRECIOUS...
Like most artists will tell you, there are just not enough hours in the day to explore all the ideas that pop into one's head.
Art truly is my passion. I have no set philosophy that I can nail down. What I know for sure is that every breath is precious, and I don't want to miss a thing.
